Police have arrested two suspected drug traffickers in Nakuru County transporting 2,535 stones of bhang.

Nakuru Divisional Police Commander Joshua Omukata said the narcotic was destined for Nairobi.

Mr Omukata said they acted on a tip-off that enabled them impound the vehicle carrying the drug, which was coming from Migori County.

"Our officers, upon receiving information, laid ambush... We arrested two suspects who will assist police in investigations," he said.

He said officers are on alert against mischievous activities.

The suspects will be arraigned on Monday.
