Armed criminals on Tuesday raided the Nairobi home of a senior Sudan government official . They stole cash and jewellery estimated to be worth millions of shillings.
Four men, armed with a pistol, are said to have entered the home of Sudan Water Affairs minister Mabior Garang.
They tied his wife and brother with ropes and stole Sh120,000. Some of the money was in dollars.
Gold watches and other jewellery were stolen.
Garang is the son of slain Sudan politician John Garang who died in 2005. His family then relocated to Kenya.
Margaret Alwet, 36, is the ministerâs relative. She was at the Kabarnet Gardens home in Kilimani and reported the matter to the police.
Three domestic workers, among them two Ugandans, are reported to have gone missing after the 3.30pm attack. Police suspect the servants could have colluded with the criminals.
The family has been enjoying state protection since they moved into the country.Video Vault Poll of the day Most Popular 1 State takes over key Nairobi county functions, KDF picks garbage 2 Is Miguna Nairobi's best bet?
